A native of Richmond, Virginia, Michele Vida Rainer received
a Bachelor of Arts in 1987 from Randolph-Macon Woman's College with a minor in
studio art. In addition to living and studying in Madrid, Spain, Santa Fe, New
Mexico and Washington, D.C., she also attended many classes in drawing and illustration
while receiving an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from the Fashion Institute
of Technology in New York City. And her training includes various workshops at
Nimrod Hall and many classes at the Virginia Museum School of Visual Arts.
She has received awards in the Richmond, Virginia area at
Shockoe Bottom Arts Center, The Arts at Bellgrade and the Hanover Arts Fest. Other
local exhibitions and shows include the Virginia Museum Visual Arts Center, Arts
in the Park, Arts on the Lawn and JCC Undiscovered Artist Show. She also participated
in the First Annual Celebration of Jewish Arts in Northern Virginia.
