About the Anniversary Ketubah Text

A ketubah text in the United States typically contains two portions: one in English and one in Hebrew or Aramaic. (Aramaic is the ancient language of the Talmud, which uses Hebrew characters but is actually a different language.)

At MP Artworks, you have the opportunity to choose:

  • both English and Hebrew or
  • just English.

Most couples will choose to have both English and Hebrew/Aramaic, but Israeli couples sometimes prefer to have the Hebrew-only text, since that is their native tongue. Some Interfaith couples select only English.

If you are purchasing a ketubah to celebrate an anniversary, you will want to choose our Anniversary text. This text is written as a commemoration of the couple's wedding day and includes a renewal of their original vows. PLEASE NOTE: Unlike our other ketubot, we do NOT include signature lines on our Anniversary ketubot unless asked to do so.

(An Anniversary ketubah is often framed and given as a gift to the anniversary couple, rather than used as part of a renewal of vows ceremony.)

If you wish to have signature lines on the anniversary ketubah, just let us know which lines you would like included, and we will happily so do at no extra charge.

The Hebrew portion is a direct translation of the English. Although most couples select Hebrew and English, you may choose to have just one, or you may choose to write your own vows for a completely customized text.
