Originally a watercolor, "For Every Season" by Claire Carter is a beautiful, symbolic design. Two rings in brown shades, one to the left and the other to the right, are joined in the center of the piece with a Celtic knot. The four seasons are represented in the knot - blue for a snowy winter, red a flower-filled spring, green with an abundance of leaves, and an orange autumn - a reminder of the changing seasons of our lives, and the trees represent growth and rebirth. The ketubah texts lie to the left and right in a complimentary shade of brown, while the popular wedding phrase from the Song of Songs, "I am my beloved?s, and my beloved is mine" is written above the artwork and below it the Hebrew "Ani l'dodi v'dodi li." The Celtic knot and double rings represent the couple?s unending commitment to devotion. Each ring is made of three strands symbolizing the couple, joined and held together by God. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
