Originally a watercolor, "For Every Season II" by Claire Carter is a beautiful, symbolic design. Four rings in brown shades form a border of branches like nature?s stained glass around the ketubah text. The four seasons are represented in each circle- blue for a snowy winter, red a flower-filled spring, green with an abundance of leaves, and an orange autumn - a reminder of the changing seasons of our lives, and the branches represent growth and rebirth. Each season is woven together with a threefold of braid, representing the couple, joined and held together by God. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. The ketubah text is in a white square in the center in a complimentary shade of brown.
Claire began working with MP Artworks at the Florida Studio in 2001. Encouraged by the work of the other artists and the art of ketubah making, she then began to explore and connect her Jewish heritage to her painting. This season breathed fresh air into her work and she soon began to display her paintings with MP Artworks. She is delighted at the privilege of sharing her work with couples as a celebration of their marriage and of Jewish culture.

Claire graduated from the University of Hawai'i in 1997, earning a BFA in painting with High Honors. Her works have appeared in exhibits throughout the U.S. and Canada. She currently works as a painter and graphic designer and resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia with her husband, Ian.
